OUR MISSION:

​

-Peacebuilding: We aim to support innovative initiatives that advance conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts in Guinea. This includes fostering constructive dialogue among communities, promoting reconciliation, and strengthening mutual understanding, social cohesion, and respect for diversity. Particular emphasis will be placed on ensuring equality, inclusion, and meaningful participation for vulnerable and marginalized populations, including minority groups. Through these efforts, the project seeks to contribute to sustainable peace, social stability, and inclusive community development.

-ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS: We seek to promote awareness of environmental challenges and strengthen understanding of our shared responsibilities as global citizens through community-based projects, educational workshops, and experiential learning initiatives. This effort is particularly important in Guinea, West Africa, where large-scale mining activities, including those associated with the Simandou and Boké projects, have increased the vulnerability of nearby communities. The initiative aims to enhance environmental stewardship, community resilience, and sustainable development while addressing the social and environmental impacts of extractive industries..

-Women's empowerment:

To enable Guinean women to participate fully in all aspects of social, economic, and community development, it is essential to ensure that their fundamental rights are recognized, protected, and upheld. Guinea continues to face significant challenges related to high illiteracy rates and the prevalence of female genital mutilation (FGM), both of which disproportionately affect women and girls. These challenges are further reinforced by patriarchal norms and traditional social structures that often limit opportunities, inclusion, and gender equality.

OUR OBJECTIVE

To promote sustainable peace, environmental stewardship, and gender equality by empowering women, strengthening community resilience, and fostering inclusive development. The organization seeks to advance peacebuilding initiatives through dialogue, conflict prevention, and social cohesion; raise awareness of environmental challenges through education and community engagement; and enhance the social and economic empowerment of women through capacity-building, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for equal rights and opportunities. Through these integrated efforts, our aims to contribute to poverty reduction, social justice, environmental sustainability, and the overall well-being of vulnerable and marginalized communities.

To create a peaceful, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable society where women and girls are empowered to realize their full potential, communities live in harmony, and natural resources are managed responsibly for present and future generations. We envision a world in which equality, social justice, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development are upheld, enabling all individuals, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations, to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

NOTE: In 2021, we changed our project name from Together-As-One to United Actions for Community Development.
