National Public Speaking Competition

On the 2nd, 3rd an 4th August 2014, there was an annual national public speaking competition organized by the NGO “ Together as One For Development Exchange Program Abroad” in Tafilalet Region in collaboration with “El Fath Association for Education and Camping”. The competition was held in two different languages, namely Arabic and English. The number of participants was 23 competitors who came from different cities in Morocco, including Tafilalet, Meknes, Errachidia, Fes, Tetouan, Arfoud and Jorf. The aim of this competition is to open doors for the participants to express themselves in certain issues concerned with their society and to train them to discover their best selves in the art of public speaking as well.

The first day, 2nd August, of this annual competition, was devoted to well equip the participants with the techniques and skills of public speaking like how to use ICT, how to hook the audience attention and how to structure the speech to present. The participants showed high motivation, enthusiasm and good interaction with their trainer Mr. Nabil Belmeki, the responsible for training session.

For the second day, 3rd August, which was started with reciting some verses of the Koran, the 23 candidates competed for the three awards of each language. Their topics vary in Terms of topic choice and the techniques used to convince and impact their audience. The time specified for each presentation should not exceed seven minutes maximum. After every presentation, presenters received encouragements and some feedbacks to overcome some of their mishaps in the future.

On the third day, 4th August, there was a closing ceremony in which all the participants received certificates of participation. However, the winners were received extra winning certificates and awards. The closing ceremony was also an opportunity to recognize and thank Mr. Nabil BELMEKI Organizer and all the jury members for their great effort and contribution in making this competition very successful.
