New Zealand Scholarships - Africa

The New Zealand Aid Programme offers scholarships to people from developing countries who are motivated to make a difference at home.
Eligible countries in Africa include:
Algeria, Angola, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Zimbabwe

Description
Scholarship applications are also accepted from Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged communities.
New Zealand Development Scholarships are a central part of the New Zealand Government’s development cooperation programme in Africa.
The NZDS scheme offers the opportunity to people from developing countries to study in priority sector courses at New Zealand universities.
Scholarships are offered for postgraduate study at the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters or Doctorate (PhD) levels. (Study at PhD level will only be considered where particularly strong development relevance is demonstrated).
Undergraduate degree level study is not offered.
Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as the New Zealand Government attempts to ensure gender equity among scholarship holders.
Scholarships must be taken in the year for which they are offered and cannot be transferred to the next academic year.
If offered a New Zealand Aid Programme scholarship, travel to New Zealand is subject to a visa being issued by Immigration New Zealand.
Candidates may be required to provide additional information to assist with immigration requirements.
Successful candidates should allow at least two months for their student visa application to be processed.

Apply for an Offer of Place (admission) at your preferred New Zealand institution. For most courses you will be able to apply online.
Once you have a confirmed Offer of Place, download and complete all sections of the New Zealand Scholarship application form
Attach an up to date Curriculum Vitae
Attach your IELTS or TOEFL certificate, if required (for more information or if you do not have a current IELTS or TOEFL certificate, please refer to FAQs)
Write and attach your two 500 word essays (as per the requirements detailed on the application form) and, for masters research candidates, your research proposal.
Obtain three references (as per the requirements detailed on the application form)
Obtain certified copies of all required supporting documentation (as per the requirements detailed on the application form)
Submit 2 copies of your completed application form, with all attachments and supporting documents (including an Offer of Place) by the deadline specified for the scholarship type you selected and send to the address noted at the top of this page to arrive by the deadline.
Scholarship
The scholarship covers:
Monthly stipend (600 TL for undergraduate, 850 TL for master and 1200 TL for PhD )
Full tuition fee;
Free 1-year Turkish language course;
Free accommodation;
Round-trip air ticket;
Health insurance.
